🌧 When Laguz Answered — Water Energy, Community, and an Unexpected Rain 💧

Healing Waters with Laguz Rune - Ash Tree Runes

Over the past few days, my hometown has gone from smoke and evacuation alerts… to steady, nourishing rain. I want to share a very personal story of what’s been happening, the scare my family and I faced, and how this unfolding situation connects to the water Rune Laguz, the goddess Nerthus, and the guidance of the Lemurian energies—alongside the collective consciousness of our community and the hard work of fire crews.

A few days before the fires became a real threat, I had been connecting with Laguz, tuning into Lemurian energy, and feeling the presence of Nerthus—without yet knowing the fires would endanger my home.

Yesterday, I posted a short video of the first drops of rain—it was such a relief. Today, the story gets even more incredible: the forecast had only predicted one day of rain, which the fire team said wouldn’t have been enough. Then the winds shifted, and we ended up with five days of rain straight—nearly a month’s worth falling in just three days.

In the video below, you’ll see the miracle of that rain as it began to fall. I am going to start with today and then work backwards to unfold this story.

Before I Knew

A few days before I was even aware the fires might threaten our community, I pulled Laguz—the feminine water rune tied to rivers, rain, and the deep waters within. I spoke about Nerthus—one of the oldest known water goddesses to the Germanic peoples—and the Lemurian current that invites us to soften, listen, and co-create with nature. At the time, I didn’t realize the message would soon feel so urgent, but in recent Rune readings in the community, water energy had been reaching out to certain people in a way I couldn’t ignore. I notice the healing energy of water reaching back out to earth and inviting a connection with humanity, healing old standing wounds between water elementals and humans.

The Shift

Only days later, smoke rose behind my house and the fires were only a handful of kilometers from the perimeter of our community. Some in the rural areas had already evacuated, and the rest of our town was on evacuation alert. We had one day of rain forecasted for that evening, but the fire team reported it would not be enough to stop the fires from growing. Everything was so dry, and to make a difference, we would need at least a few days of rain.

I tapped into the Lemurian energy again and asked for help. I also spoke to Nerthus, the goddess associated with the rune Laguz—probably the oldest goddess known from Germanic sources. She told me she would like flowers placed on her island (she was worshipped on an island in a lake, possibly in Frisia). I planted red flowers for her, along with borage—my favorite herb—which grows beautiful star-shaped flowers symbolizing hope.

I was told that everything would be okay, that my family and my town would be safe. I didn’t know how this would happen, as we only had that one night of rain forecasted, which wasn’t enough—but I went to bed believing it. The next day, the rains started. The forecast shifted, the winds changed direction, and suddenly we had five days of rain ahead of us, including an atmospheric river expected to deliver a month’s worth of rain in just three days. This was an anomaly—completely unexpected. 🙂

The Rain Arrives

Here is a video I posted yesterday, just as the water was beginning to make its appearance.

When the first drops fell, I felt the presence of Nerthus and the Lemurian energy strongly, as though nature had heard and responded—not just to me, but to all of us. I believe in the power of community consciousness, in how our intentions can weave together with the natural world’s rhythms. And I believe the water heard us.

I woke up the next day, and this was the miracle forecast that happened!

I know in my heart that our community received help from sacred water sources. I also believe many others in our town were tuning into the water’s energy as well, creating a powerful collective consciousness that helped call the rains.

The Elemental dieties associated with the runes, the land, and the flowing water communicate when we pause and listen. The energy was here, and I am grateful.

I know many people around the world are facing their own challenges and disasters right now. Nature is always listening, and there is power in pausing, giving gratitude, and noticing the subtle ways we can work alongside the earth.

I’d love to hear your experiences — moments when you’ve connected with nature, thanked it, or co-created in some way. Sharing these stories reminds us of the deep relationship we all can have with the world around us.
