Description
Observations on the Fauna of Norfolk
and More Particularly on the District of the Broads
By Rev. Richard Lubbock
Published by Jarrold & Sons, London & Exchange Streets, 1879.

Originally issued in 1845, this work by Rev. Richard Lubbock explores the natural history and wildlife of Norfolk, with particular attention given to the Norfolk Broads — the famed network of wetlands and waterways in eastern England known for their rich bird and animal life.
This copy is bound with a striking green leather spine featuring ornate gold gilt embellishments and lettering. While I have located other copies from the same year, I have not come across another with this particular binding style.

The book contains 239 pages and includes the large folding map positioned beside the title page. Also included is an appendix containing notes on hawking in Norfolk by Alfred Newton, the influential zoologist and ornithologist who later became an important figure in early bird conservation efforts in Britain.
Condition:
• Folding map present
• No seam splits
• Pages remain secure
• Some fading to the upper front panel (see gallery images)
