I’ve begun carving my next Elder Futhark Rune set, this time into beautiful African amethyst. In this video, I pause after carving Eihwaz (ᛇ) to reflect on its meaning, symbolism, and magical uses.
📺 Watch here:
Eihwaz represents the yew tree — a being of mystery, transformation, and incredible resilience. Yew trees can live for thousands of years, and even as they decay, new “daughter trees” grow within their hollow trunks, continuing their life force. This makes Eihwaz a powerful rune of death, regeneration, and rebirth.

In the video, I share:
☽☆ The connection between Eihwaz and the Yew tree
☽☆ Why it’s both toxic and medicinal
☽☆ Its ogham counterpart
☽☆ The range of messages it may bring forward in a reading
☽☆ Magical uses: protection, overcoming obstacles, spiritual development, strengthening personal and magical power, banishing, divination, and past-life recall
Eihwaz stands at the threshold of endings and beginnings — a reminder of the cycles we move through and the deeper mysteries behind them.

✧・゚ Eihwaz reminds us of the cycles we move through — endings that are not truly endings, but beginnings waiting to take shape. :・゚✧
