Ghosts of London, by H.V. Morton

Published by Methuen & Co. Ltd. In 1939. Stated ‘Printed in Great Britain’. Hardcover. This is the first edition, and the first ever printing of the book. (There was a 1940 first American release printed by Dodd, Mead & Company with the same layout). Second and third printings of this book in the U.K were printed in 1940 and 1943.

There is a slight water stain on the back cover.  All pages are intact, top and bottom of spine show some wear. Overall a respectable first edition copy. Missing original dust jacket which seems to be the common case with most of the early printings this book.

This book is packed with interesting anecdotes about historic locations in London. 167 pages. This book also comes with a great piece of Ephemera inside, a leaflet Autumn 1939 Catalogue for Methuen Books. (see pictures in the gallery area for example of this).
