About the Author: Doreen Valiente (1922-1999) is often referred to as the “Mother of Modern Witchcraft.” She played a crucial role in the development of Wicca, working closely with Gerald Gardner, one of the pioneers of modern witchcraft. Valiente was instrumental in refining and expanding the rituals and practices that form the foundation of contemporary Wicca. Her writings, including the well-known “Charge of the Goddess,” have had a lasting impact on the witchcraft and pagan communities.
