This 25-piece Elder Futhark Rune set is hand-carved by Ashley at Ash Tree Runes (a branch of Ash Tree Books 📚) using 1000 carats of natural Green Agate—a stone traditionally associated with balance, growth, grounding, and harmony.

Green Agate has long been appreciated for its connection to nature and its gentle, steady character. It is traditionally associated with renewal, abundance, emotional balance, and growth. Its earthy green colouring and natural variations give each stone its own character, making it a beautiful material for a hand-carved Rune set.

As I was carving this particular set, I kept getting a very go with the flow feeling from it. There is something lighthearted and playful about this Green Agate, and I think the pink pigment used to bring out the carved Runes adds to that feeling beautifully.

Perhaps that is part of what I like about this set—the reminder that things don’t always have to be perfect. Sometimes there is value in letting go of the need to have everything figured out, following the path as it unfolds, and returning to the person you are underneath all the expectations and noise.

Each set is hand-carved with intention, and no two sets are quite alike. This set brings together the ancient symbolism of the Elder Futhark with the natural character of the stone itself.
