This is the classic that launched Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Barsoom series and introduced readers to John Carter of Mars—a cornerstone of early science fiction, blending swashbuckling adventure with otherworldly imagination.

This edition features striking illustrations by Frank Frazetta, whose legendary work helped shape the visual identity of 20th-century pulp fantasy.

The copy is clean and tight. There’s a small circular stamp on the front endpaper about the size of a Canadian loonie that reads God is Love, and a discreet name stamp on the rear endpaper. The textblock is uncut, indicating it has not been fully trimmed by the publisher—a detail often valued by collectors.  The pages are otherwise clean and unmarked.

Tucked inside is a piece of vintage ephemera: an old Air Canada boarding pass with a Thrifty Car Rental ad on the reverse. (See image in gallery area for example of this).

A collectible edition of a foundational sci-fi tale, made all the more compelling by Frazetta’s atmospheric artwork.
