Gardening Books I Haven’t Listed Yet 🌱 A 28-Minute Look Through

Unposted Collectible Gardening Books for you shelf April 2026 - Ash Tree Books

I haven’t gotten around to listing these yet—plain and simple. 😅

Gardening books are one of my favourite categories to come across. I’m especially drawn to the illustrations—you see so much care in them. There’s also something interesting in how many women were writing in this space, particularly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when gardening, botany, and domestic horticulture were more socially acceptable avenues for women to publish and share knowledge.

The illustrations really are something else. I show one book in this video that I previously had and ended up gifting to my favourite tattoo artist because of the hand-painted floral plates—it felt like it belonged with someone who would truly appreciate that level of detail and artistry.

It’s also always fun to see what’s been left behind in these books. I keep any ephemera I find tucked inside—notes, clippings, pressed pieces, whatever it may be. It feels like a quiet continuation of the book’s life, and I never have it in me to separate those things out.

If something in the video speaks to you, feel free to message me. These will be added over time, but I’m always open to connecting about a book before it’s listed, and can offer a more flexible price at that stage.

If you’d like to explore the gardening books already listed, you can find them under Nature, Gardening & Wildlife.

I’m also in the process of building a community space called Total Book Nerd—a place to connect more with others who love books in all their forms. I’d really like to hear what you collect and why. I’ll be sharing more about it soon, but if you’d like to be part of it, feel free to message me and I can add you to the list for an invite.
