Episode #14 of Just a Girl Under a 🌲 Tree, Reading a 📖 and Asking it to Love💗 Her

Reading from; Florence Shinn & Reflections on Fehu, Abundance, and the Lives We Almost Lived 🌊ᚠ✨

There are certain passages that seem to arrive at precisely the moment they are needed.

Today’s episode began with a reading from The Complete Works of Florence Shinn, and what unfolded afterward became less about money itself… and more about relationship.

Relationship to abundance.
To trust.
To movement.
To the lives we almost lived.
And to the quieter forms of wealth we sometimes fail to recognize while we are busy measuring what might have been.

Years ago, when Bitcoin was still under fifty dollars a coin, I had the opportunity to invest. I was in my twenties, working in film, and surrounded by people discussing something that at the time still felt strange and uncertain. I nearly did it.

I didn’t😅.

And recently, after calculating what that path could have become now, I found myself staring for a moment into the ghost of another timeline.

I think many people know that feeling.

The wondering.
The alternate paths.
The lives that nearly unfolded.

But sitting quietly with that memory also brought me back to something else entirely — the life that did happen instead.

The tugboats.
The ocean before sunrise.
The pride of hard physical work.
The strange beauty of listening to the sea in darkness and fog.
The movement that eventually carried me toward buying my first home for my children after a chapter of life where I had once felt deeply stuck.

At the helm. 🌊

And that, too, was abundance.

Just not in the form I imagined at the time.

In this episode I also reflect on the rune Fehu, once associated not simply with coins, but with cattle — living wealth. Moving wealth. Something relational rather than static.

That idea stayed with me:
that perhaps abundance is not always something we endlessly strive toward, but sometimes something we remember ourselves back into.

That perhaps the body remembers possibility.

And that maybe money itself changes when it is no longer treated only as something to chase, fear, worship, or control… but as a relationship requiring attention, gratitude, movement, and trust.

For those following along with this ongoing vlog series, thank you for continuing to sit beneath the trees with me awhile. 🌲

And for those who feel drawn to the runes themselves, I also hand-carve rune sets and offer rune readings through Ash Tree Books & Runes. ✨
